Brecah’s Story: 2025 Wishes Client Speaker
Brecah Bollinger, Wellspring Client Success Story
It all began in June 2024 when my landlord informed me that they were selling the property, and we would have to vacate. At first, it was just a few words—a simple notice that felt like it could easily be solved. But little did I know, that one sentence would set off a series of events that would turn my life upside down.
The housing market in my area is brutal right now. Landlords are getting greedier, and it’s forcing people to make impossible decisions—should I pay rent, cover my utilities, or buy food for the week? These are the types of decisions that no one should ever have to make, but the truth is that people are stuck in this dilemma every single month.
It was seven months of torture—seven months of stress, fear, and constant worry. There were nights when I couldn’t sleep, dreading the thought that homelessness might be just around the corner. Christmas came, but it wasn’t a time for celebration—it was a time of fear. I had no idea if I’d be packing up our Christmas decorations and leaving the next morning. It wasn’t about enjoying the holidays; it was about surviving them, holding on to hope that something would change.
After all those hardships, I reached out to Wellspring Multi-Service Center, desperate for any help I could get. And that was the turning point. They didn’t just listen—they helped. They understood my struggle and promised support, and that promise lifted me from the depths of despair. Not long after, I found a place that didn’t require a perfect credit score—a place that finally accepted me.
March 1st, 2025, was the day I officially moved into my new home. I’m not homeless. I’m safe. I have a roof over my head, and for the first time in months, I can breathe easy.
I owe this victory to the incredible team at Wellspring—Vinny Harte and his team. They went above and beyond to make sure I had the chance I needed to turn my situation around. Their compassion and dedication are what made all the difference. I also owe a great deal of gratitude to God, to my family, and to the friends who supported me and kept me in their prayers during the hardest times.
No matter how difficult the road gets, don’t give up. There is help out there, there are people who care, and sometimes, just reaching out can be the difference between giving up and finding hope.
