The Rev. Robert B. Edson
The Rev. Robert B. Edson was born at the U.S.M.A at West Point, N.Y. and was raised in Washington, D.C. He holds a B.A. from Tusculum University, Greeneville, TN and an M.Div. from the Episcopal Theological School in Cambridge, MA. He was ordained in 1966 in the Washington National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. and served parishes in Chevy Chase, MD, Cornwall, N.Y., Washington, D.C. and St. John's Church in Hingham. He served as Dean of the South Shore Clergy and is currently Chaplain to Retired Clergy and Spouses and is on several Boards in the community. He was chair of the Board of Wellspring and currently on the Wellspring Foundation.
Robert was married to the late Rev. Dr. Diane Edson who was the founding Director of Wellspring Multi-Service Center in Hull. St. John’s Church has supported Wellspring since its beginning.
Their daughter, Sarah and her husband Nic live in Simsbury, CT. Their son Dave and his wife Rachel live in Great Barrington, MA with their daughter, Fiona.
Robert’s travels have taken him to England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, France, Italy, Israel, Turkey and Cuba. He is an avid reader of the biographies of those who made history.
