Edward Liao

Eddie is the current Vice President, Operations – Ancillary Services at Southcoast Health System. He provides executive leadership, develops and executes on the strategy and operational plan for all clinical support services across the three (3) hospitals, primary, specialty and urgent care and post-acute care platforms that comprise the health system.  Prior to joining Southcoast Health System, Eddie was the Vice President of Clinical and Ancillary Services at South Shore Health, in South Weymouth.  He also served as the Chair of the Health System’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Steering Committee and led the organization’s DEI strategic initiatives and objectives.

Before joining South Shore Health, Eddie spent 16 years at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC.  During that time, he held progressively complex leadership roles culminating in the executive oversight of the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders. 

Eddie is a native of the Washington, DC area.  Growing up in McLean, Virginia, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of Virginia before completing his Master of Science in Physiology and Biophysics at Georgetown University.  He later received a Master of Public Health from the Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia and then earned a Master of Business Administration from Johns Hopkins University.

Eddie and his husband, Tommy, continue to enjoy living in Hull since 2017.
